TESTING

Our Services

Testing

1. Soil Investigation

We have a team of experts specializing in soil testing. It is a vital part of the foundation design process for various structures, including buildings, bridges, dams, railways, roads, and culverts. This involves collecting both disturbed and undisturbed soil samples for laboratory analysis. The testing includes

soil classification, compaction, shear strength, bearing capacity, permeability, consolidation, moisture content, and chemical analysis.

Soil Boring

2. Soil Boring

Our skilled team excels in conducting soil boring tests. A soil boring test is a subsurface investigation that assesses soil strength and properties by extracting several shallow core samples from the sediment. This method is used to evaluate and determine the soil composition and conditions at a site planned

For construction. Types of soil boring include auger boring, wash boring, rotary drilling, and percussion drilling.

Construction Material Testing

3. Construction material Testing

For testing building materials, we have a sufficient machinery system . Construction materials testing involves the critical evaluation of all structural materials used in a project. Industry professionals must ensure their products can endure specific conditions and adhere to complex national and international

building standards and regulations. This includes testing materials such as cement, steel, bricks, wood, bitumen, aggregate, sand, stone, and tiles.

Concrete Testing

4. Concrete Testing

Build99 has a certified laboratory for testing concrete. Concrete testing is essential for quality control and verifying compliance with specified standards. The primary goal is to assess the concrete's strength and ensure it meets predetermined criteria. Testing for fresh concrete includes evaluating air content,

Conducting slump tests, flow table tests, compacting factor tests, Vee Bee densitometer tests, and sampling concrete for further analysis.

.

5. Water Testing

The staff at Build99 is proficient in water testing.Water is utilized during the mixing process of concrete, mortar, and during the curing of the concrete thus the construction water must meet the requirements of the national and international standards as it directly impacts the quality of the construction.

Our Water quality tests include pH value test, Limits of acidity & alkalinity test, Per cent of solids, Suspended matter, Organic and Inorganic Solid, Chloride, Sulphates.

Bridge Load Testing

6. Bridge Load Testing

Build99 is recognized for its expertise in bridge load testing. The objective of performing load testing on existing bridges is to assess their structural behavior under load without inflicting damage. This involves determining live load distribution, load rating, serviceability, and dynamic response.

The primary aim is to verify whether the maximum deflection and percentage recovery remain within allowable thresholds. This testing is applicable to structures such as bridges, culverts, flyovers, and dams. We utilize precision total station instruments to ensure accurate measurements.

NDT Testing

7. NDT Test

We are adept in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is a method that employs advanced tools, such as ultrasonic sensors, to detect defects in materials or assets without causing any damage. Non-destructive testing of in-situ concrete is an essential component for evaluating

the quality/strength of concrete of various structures like footings, columns, beams, Slabs…etc, either immediately after construction or later.

8. Carbonation Testing

Our committed staff is an expert in carbonation testing. Carbonation test means if any concrete structure is exposed to the atmosphere, the surface of the concrete comes in contact with Carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere. The calcium present in the cement/concrete will react with Carbon dioxide forming

calcium carbonate resulting in a reduction of alkalinity in concrete. Whenever the concrete is dense and impervious to atmospheric agents, the carbonation will be restricted to the surface only. However, if the concrete is pervious, the carbonation reaction continues inwards and reaches the concrete surrounding the rebars.

9. Ground Improvement Techniques

For undertaking ground improvement, we have enough equipment. Ground improvement techniques are used to prepare construction sites before any foundation, or superstructure is built. The ground improvement will change the properties

of the soil and this will determine the type of foundation to be used on site. This can be used to build a more cost-effective foundation design. Improvement of Gravel Compaction, Addition of load , Improvement by structural Reinforcement, Use of admixtures, Improvement by grouting, Improvement by thermal stabilization, and Improvement by vegetation, these are the methods we include in Ground Improvement Techniques.
